Built in 1860 on property given to him by his father, Captain Melville Walker made this beautiful home his personal family residence.
The grandson of one of the earliest Kennebunkport families, Captain Walker was a merchant sea captain who sailed around the world, often bringing his wife, Abbie, and children with him on his journeys.
Highly respected, Captain Walker was known as a fastidious navigator and savvy merchant. His grand home and its spacious landscaped lawns now welcome guests from around the globe.

In the summer, beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs are available for use by our guests. We also have a covered bicycle rack, off street parking, restaurant directory, and complimentary loan from our movie collection. We always offer treats and beverages between 3:00 and 5:00.

Overlooking perennial gardens and landscaped grounds and decorated in warm tones with citron accents, bedroom offers 32? flat panel TV/DVD, iPad dock, Keurig coffee system and a cozy eating area. Luxury private tiled bath features a 2-person shower with a rain forest shower head and multiple body jets. French doors lead into spacious living room with ample plush seating around a glowing gas fireplace. Also features the most comfortable queen-sized sleeper sofa available. Stained glass, oval crystal starburst windows, and bay windows bring original details to this modern suite.
Garden Room 14
Adorned with rich cranberry and gold wallpaper, maple hardwood floors, and furnished with a queen four poster bed, this charming guest room has a cozy gas fireplace and 32? flat panel HDTV/DVD. Features an expansive private deck with a Victorian bistro set, umbrella table, and two anti-gravity lounge chairs.
The fully private bathroom has just been renovated and features an extra deep soaker tub for added relaxation. Though the Garden Room is our smallest guest room, it is our most requested, as private entrance and beautiful wide French doors leading to the deck render it open and airy. 1st floor.
Cottage Suite 11
This Contemporary Cottage suite with king bed boasts a modern design with bold turquoise tones complemented with rich chocolate and crisp white accents. Sitting area features an electric fireplace 32? HDTV, and plush sleeper sofa with a full/queen sleeper sofa with Tempurpedic mattress.
Breakfast room offers refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker, and with seating for up to 4, you can enjoy breakfast delivered to your door in style. Private bath with tub/shower combination. Maximum occupancy: 4.
Romantic Cottage 3
Recently redecorated in traditionally in light blues and whites, geometric patterns, and California King mahogany plantation bed, this romantic New England style suite features fireplace, dark hardwood floors, iPad docking station and cozy loveseat perfect for two. Large flat panel TV (portable DVD player available upon request).
Separate breakfast room with marble counter tops and crystal chandelier is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, gourmet Keurig coffee maker. The luxurious bathroom boasts a double whirlpool tub and shower. State of the art heating and cooling system is perfect for keeping you comfortable all year round.
